Goosebreak spans six weights from Light to Ultra, each with a matching italic, drawing on pen-influenced letterforms that reference the natural world. Its development was motivated by the lack of personality in existing typefaces supporting Canadian Aboriginal syllabics, resulting in a family suited to both editorial and advertising use. The name references 'nituwaaschenaanuu', the Cree word for the Spring goose-hunting season, a culturally significant period for Aboriginal communities in Northern Quebec.
Classification
