About
Pablo A Medina developed Dekalb in 2013 following a session photographing signage, murals and graffiti around Dekalb and Wyckoff avenues. The family spans Light, Regular and Ultra weights, with oblique cuts for the lighter two and a Shaded Display variant across all three weights. Each font includes Western European character sets, an alternate 'g' and f-ligatures.
Classification
A display sans-serif drawn from vernacular street lettering observed in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The inclusion of shaded variants and oblique styles reinforces its display orientation, while the letterforms carry a hand-painted, sign-painting quality.
