Alphaluxe
PSY/OPS Type Foundry · Wesley Poole · 2006

A vertical Moderne script hand-drawn by Wesley Poole in 2006, evoking the futuristic lettering styles of the 1930s–50s with strong shapes and a deliberately light stroke weight.
About
Originally drawn by hand, Alphaluxe was digitised by PSY/OPS designers Jana Flynn and RXC, who translated its distinctive vertical rhythm into a working typeface. The design references the theatrical script lettering of mid-century Moderne style without the heaviness that typically accompanies it. Prêt-à-porter alternates, ligatures and Western and Eastern European character support are included in the single font package.
Classification
A vertical script typeface in the tradition of Moderne scripts from the 1930s–50s, characterised by strong upright letterforms, light rendering and stylistic alternates typical of display script design.
