WW3 Arabic
Protype Foundry · Ibrahim Hamdi · 2021

A bespoke Arabic typeface family designed for the multiplayer FPS World War 3, pairing an inktrap display style with a companion sans across two weights and three scripts.
About
Commissioned in collaboration with The 4 Winds Entertainment, WW3 Arabic was created to match the Latin and Cyrillic typefaces designed in-house at MY.GAMES by Tanya Cherkiz. Ibrahim Hamdi drew the Arabic scripts to harmonise with the original military geometric aesthetic, producing two subfamilies — an inktrap cut for headlines and a sans-serif for running text — each available in Regular and Bold. The project is notable as the first custom Arabic inktrap typeface designed specifically for a video game.
Classification
Military-themed geometric typeface in two distinct styles — an inktrap variant for display use and a clean sans-serif for text — both supporting Arabic, Extended Latin and Cyrillic scripts. The inktrap cuts are the defining stylistic feature, making this a display-oriented family despite the secondary text-weight sans.
