Stobart specimen from Protimient

A connected script font based on an 1899 handwritten letter by Henry Stobart, using over 1,200 glyphs across eight alphabet sets to simulate authentic Victorian penmanship.

About

Drawn directly from a letter dated 1899, Stobart reproduces the idiosyncratic character of genuine 19th-century handwriting through extensive OpenType contextual substitution. Eight discrete alphabet sets cycle through alternate letterforms to prevent the repetition that exposes most script fonts as mechanical. Full extended Latin support is included, though the advanced contextual features require an OpenType-capable application such as InDesign or Photoshop to function as intended.

Classification

A connected cursive script drawn from 19th-century handwritten letterforms, with extensive OpenType contextual alternates to simulate genuine handwriting. The multiple alphabet sets and contextual substitution logic place it firmly in the handwritten script tradition.
