Neue Reman Grotesk specimen from Propertype Fonts

A large grotesque family spanning seven weights, five widths and matching italics, totalling 70 static styles plus a variable font file.

About

Neue Reman Grotesk is the second version of the Neue Reman family, offering 750 glyphs with Latin Pro character support. Each of the seven weights runs across condensed, semi-condensed, standard, semi-expanded and expanded widths, all with corresponding italics. OpenType features include stylistic alternates, stylistic sets, caps swashes, ligatures, tabular and proportional figures, superscript, subscript, fractions and arrows.

Classification

Named and styled as a neo-grotesque, the family follows the broad grotesque tradition with slanted italics and a systematic weight and width structure across five widths. The 'Neue' prefix signals alignment with the Swiss grotesque revival approach.
