Posthumous
Prologue Type · Ellis Carson Jones · 2025

A variable semi-connected blackletter script spanning six weights, with automatic swash cap logic, disconnected stylistic sets and OpenType arrow replacement built in.
About
Posthumous blends blackletter structure with softened, semi-connected letterforms across a variable weight axis from Regular to Black. A standout feature, inspired by Matthijs Herzberg's Mancine, automatically removes swash capitals from all-caps settings except the first letter, making all-caps blackletter genuinely legible. The font also includes a disconnected stylistic set for a more traditional blackletter feel, four numeral sets, automatic arrow replacement, and broad Latin language support through the custom Prologue Latin character set.
Classification
Classified as blackletter due to its roots in the blackletter tradition, with a variable script approach that semi-connects letterforms and softens joints, blending blackletter structure with connected script characteristics.
