Nova Horst specimen from PintassilgoPrints

An eccentric display typeface inspired by the etching work of German artist Horst Janssen, featuring overlapping glyphs, stylistic alternates and ornaments.

About

Nova Horst builds on an earlier release called Horst, amplifying its wild character with additional alternate glyphs, ornaments and deliberately unpredictable overlapping letterforms drawn from Janssen's printmaking aesthetic. The single Regular weight is suited to headlines and branding where eccentricity is the point rather than an accident. OpenType features include discretionary ligatures, stylistic sets and ornaments, giving designers room to push the irregularity further.

Classification

An eccentric, highly expressive display typeface with overlapping glyphs and unpredictable letterforms inspired by the etching style of artist Horst Janssen, placing it firmly in the display category with an expressive, hand-influenced subcategory.
