Arca specimen from PintassilgoPrints

A cheerful cut-out display typeface inspired by Elifas Andreato's 1980 cover art for a classic Brazilian children's album by Vinicius de Moraes and Tom Jobim.

About

The design replicates the scissor-cut paper aesthetic of the original album artwork, giving letterforms a lively, handmade character suited to festive and editorial contexts. Two styles are available: Regular and Cutouts, the latter providing decorative elements to complement the main letterforms. Language support spans over two dozen Latin-based scripts with OpenType features including discretionary ligatures, fractions and stylistic sets.

Classification

Arca is a display typeface with a hand-crafted, cut-out aesthetic drawn directly from a 1980 album cover illustration. Its irregular, paper-cut forms place it firmly in the display category with a decorative, craft-inspired subcategory.
