Psylon specimen from Paulo Goode

A two-font display family with a deliberately primitive, broad-nib construction and a fluctuating x-height that lends it an idiosyncratic sci-fi character suited to titling and branding.

About

Psylon pairs a hand-drawn, broad-nibbed simplicity of mark-making with a futuristic aesthetic, making it an intentional oxymoron of primitive craft and technological suggestion. Its fluctuating x-height adds irregularity to lowercase setting, reinforcing its use at large display sizes for headlines, logotypes and book covers. The family consists of two fonts covering Latin European languages, with over 375 glyphs and standard ligatures.

Classification

Explicitly classified as a display typeface by the foundry, designed for titling and branding with a primitive, broad-nib construction that evokes science fiction and advanced technology aesthetics.
