Designed by Paulo Goode and released in October 2023, the family covers Compressed through Extended widths, each with nine weights from Thin to Ultra, and italics for all but the Compressed cut. A stylistic alternate provides a slab-serif capital 'I' for improved legibility alongside lowercase 'l'. The 600-plus glyph set covers all Latin European languages, and a single variable font spans the full weight and width range.
Classification
A gothic sans-serif in the American grotesque tradition, directly influenced by Morris Fuller Benton's News Gothic, Franklin Gothic and Alternate Gothic, as well as Trade Gothic. The upright, low-contrast letterforms with angled terminals are characteristic of the genre.
