Meccanica specimen from Paulo Goode

A geometric sans from 2017 distinguished by chamfered edges, angular bowls and semi-hexagonal ink traps inspired by nuts and bolts.

About

Meccanica draws on the visual language of mechanical engineering, giving standard geometric sans forms a distinctive edge through chamfered corners, hexagonal terminals and angled bowls. It spans nine weights with Roman and Oblique styles, totalling 18 fonts. Designed primarily for display use in headlines, logotypes and branding, it also holds up at smaller body copy sizes.

Classification

A geometric sans with distinctive engineering-inspired details: chamfered edges, angular bowls, angled terminals and semi-hexagonal ink traps. These geometric and mechanical traits place it firmly in the geometric sans category, though with a highly individual character.
