About
Originally sketched by hand using a Roman typeface found in an old calligraphy workbook, Carrig Rough was first digitised in Macromedia Fontographer for a lakeside hotel in County Kerry. Sixteen years later the project was revived in Glyphs to produce a complete two-weight family of 359 glyphs with small caps and four alternates. The deliberate irregularity of the hand-drawn process gives the face a character distinct from digital revivals of Trajan, though it is no longer commercially available.
