Carrig Roman specimen from Paulo Goode

A hand-refined antiqua serif with a full lowercase character set, released in 2015 as part of Paulo Goode's Carrig family, available in Display, Text and Bold.

About

Carrig Roman extends the Carrig Rough and Carrig Refined lineage by introducing a complete lowercase character set, with each letterform individually adjusted to maintain consistent personality across the family. Ascender and descender weights, serifs, curves and loops were tuned individually rather than derived uniformly, resulting in 410 glyphs across three fonts. The design includes four alternates and five ligatures, with European Latin language support.

Classification

Classified by the foundry as Antiqua, Carrig Roman is a traditional serif with display and text cuts, featuring hand-refined letterforms with individual attention to serif construction, stroke weight and curve. Its roots in historical serif tradition place it firmly in the antiqua subcategory.
