Carrig Refined
Paulo Goode · Paulo Goode · 2015

A polished all-caps display serif drawn from a hand-lettered Roman source, positioned as an alternative to Trajan with two weights and small caps support.
About
Originally hand-drawn for a hotel identity project, Carrig Refined is the cleaned-up sibling of Carrig Rough, retaining the personality of the source letterforms while introducing consistent stroke widths, uniform serifs and tighter kerning. The family comprises two weights – Regular and Bold – with 361 glyphs and small caps, supporting Latin-script European languages. It is no longer commercially available.
Classification
All-caps display serif derived from a hand-drawn Roman typeface, with uniform serifs and curved letterforms closely related to the Trajan/inscriptional tradition. The foundry itself classifies it as 'Trajan Serif'.
