Six Hands

scripthandwritten displaycondensed
Six Hands specimen from ParaType

A collaborative set of six handwritten display fonts, each mimicking a different writing tool, with Cyrillic and extended Latin support and automatic glyph alternates.

About

Each of the six styles in the set simulates a distinct writing instrument – pencil, felt-tip pen, ballpoint pen, brush and chalk – giving designers a range of informal textures that nonetheless share a visual kinship. Most styles include contextual alternates that cycle automatically, adding variation and a more natural handwritten feel to longer passages. The family is intended for use in packaging, advertising, posters and menus, where its diversity of textures can be deployed expressively.

Classification

A set of six handwritten display fonts each simulating a different writing instrument – pencil, felt-tip pen, ballpoint pen and brush – placing it firmly in the script/handwritten category with a display orientation.
