MegaMegaTypeType
A single-weight display face by Katya Galuyan whose egg-shaped letterforms take inspiration from the Russian folk character Shaltai Boltai, the equivalent of Humpty Dumpty.
About
Designed for ParaType in 2008, Shaltai takes its name from the Russian version of Humpty Dumpty, and the letterforms reflect that reference through rounded, rolling, slightly lopsided forms. The face is caps-only and suited to poster work, advertising and children's publishing. Its free-form construction gives it a loose, hand-crafted quality distinct from conventional rounded display types.
Classification
A single-weight display face with egg-shaped, rounded letterforms designed for playful, expressive contexts. The organic, free-form character construction places it firmly in the decorative display category.
