A three-grade display family that genuinely replicates a child's handwriting, originating from Alexandros Papalexis's designs for his daughter's birthday invitations.
About
Each of the three grades simulates a distinct stage of a child's writing development, giving designers a spectrum of controlled imperfection. The family covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic scripts, and is accompanied by a set of 125 pictograms drawing on western and eastern European iconography. Its origins in a personal, domestic commission give the letterforms an authenticity that purely stylised 'childlike' typefaces rarely achieve.
Classification
A casual, informal display typeface designed to mimic a child's handwriting, with multiple grades suggesting varying levels of letter formation maturity. Its irregular, expressive letterforms place it firmly in the display category rather than a true script.
