A digital adaptation of Anton Dumbadze's metal Georgian typeface, produced at ParaType in 1994 from artwork supplied by the Georgian firm Vesta.
About
Originally drawn for metal type by Anton Dumbadze, Kolheti was brought into digital form at ParaType (then ParaGraph) in 1994. The family comprises three styles – Book, Italic and Bold – and is suited to text setting in Georgian-language publications including magazines and editorial work.
Classification
A Georgian-script typeface originating from a metal type design, adapted for digital use. The Georgian script and its metal type tradition place this firmly in the serif category, with characteristics consistent with a transitional approach suited to text setting.
