A neutral, upright handwritten face modelled on early 2000s comic book speech bubble lettering, with wide proportions, open counters and broad multilingual support including Armenian and Old Turkic.
About
Designed by Abay Emes, Bubble Sans draws on the informal lettering conventions of comic book speech bubbles, using elastic strokes and subtle asymmetry to suggest handwriting without sacrificing legibility. Wide proportions and open shapes keep it readable in dense text settings, making it suitable for children's books and posters alongside its intended comic lettering use. The single Regular weight supports Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Armenian and Old Turkic scripts, with alternate letterforms and decorative symbols included, and is released under an Open Font Licence.
Classification
A casual, upright handwritten typeface with elastic strokes and subtle asymmetry, designed explicitly for comic book lettering and speech bubble contexts. Despite its handwritten origins, its neutrality and digital precision place it closer to informal script than expressive display.
