An extra compressed Armenian stencil display face, designed by Manvel Shmavonyan in 2004, reviving Henrik Mnatsakanyan's original 1970s lettering for advertising and headline use.
About
Based on lettering created by Armenian type designer Henrik Mnatsakanyan (1923–2001), Bardi takes its name from the Armenian word for 'Poplar'. Its tightly compressed letterforms echo Neo-Classical faces and the magazine typography of the 1950s and 60s. Intended for advertising, display settings, magazine headlines and logos, the family is currently available in a single Regular style.
Classification
An extra compressed stencil display face with Neo-Classical proportions and high contrast, designed for headline and advertising use. Its letterforms draw on compressed magazine lettering conventions of the 1950s–60s.
