displaypixel
AZ Poligon specimen from ParaType

A single-weight pixel typeface built from square grid units, designed at the Az-Zet graphic bureau between 1990 and 1995.

About

Each letterform is assembled from uniform square blocks on a strict grid, producing a chunky bitmap aesthetic with no curves. Designed by Leonid Silkin at ATRI, Graphic Bureau Az-Zet, the typeface is available in one Regular style. The result is a straightforwardly retro pixel face typical of early digital display work from that era.

Classification

The specimen shows letterforms constructed entirely from square pixel units on a grid, with no curves – a classic bitmap/pixel display typeface. The chunky, monospaced-looking grid construction places it firmly in the display pixel subcategory.
