A single-weight Latin display face from 1993 in which each letterform imitates the flowing, connected strokes of Arabic calligraphy.
About
Designed by Alexey Chekulaev at Double Alex Font Studio, based on artwork by Oleg Snarsky, the typeface maps Arabic calligraphic conventions onto the Latin alphabet. Strokes taper sharply, joins are cursive and continuous, and counter forms echo Naskh or Nastaliq script structure. Available in one weight, it is suited to poster and headline use where its novelty is the point.
Classification
The specimen shows Latin letterforms drawn with Arabic calligraphic influence: flowing, connected strokes with sharp tapering terminals and cursive joins that mimic Naskh or Nastaliq script conventions. This places it firmly in decorative display territory rather than any conventional Latin category.
