Designed by Gennady Fridman and released in 2009, the typeface was commissioned for a book on the Lykov family history, with the handwriting sample supplied by Lev Cherepanov. Built in OpenType format, it uses contextual substitution and specific ligatures to replicate the natural irregularity of Agafia's script. The result is a typeface with genuine documentary origin rather than a stylised approximation of handwriting.
