Octic Gothic specimen from P22 Type Foundry

A two-style revival of a Lanston 1930s interpretation of a 19th-century octagonally constructed gothic, with Octic Gothic Two offering a condensed and lighter variant.

About

Every letterform is built from an eight-sided polygon, producing sharp, angular cuts that give the face a simultaneously antique and oddly current character. The family consists of two styles: the regular weight and a condensed, thinner companion. Language support spans a broad range of Latin-script European and Southeast Asian languages.

Classification

Constructed on an octagonal (eight-sided) geometry, giving it a stark angularity that places it firmly in the display category. The revival of a Lanston 1930s interpretation of a 19th-century design makes it a geometric novelty typeface rather than a conventional sans-serif.
