Scrivano specimen from Outras Fontes

A four-style calligraphic type family rooted in medieval and Renaissance handwriting traditions, offering an oldstyle pen-drawn quality suited to titling and short display text.

About

Designed by Ricardo Esteves, Scrivano takes its cues from historical handwriting models including the foundational hand, translating their broad-nib pen character into four styles: Regular, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic. The family is best suited to titling and short text settings where a calligraphic, oldstyle mood is required. Its organic forms carry a legible elegance without veering into overly decorative territory.

Classification

A calligraphic script drawing on medieval and Renaissance handwriting traditions, including the foundational hand model. Its organic letterforms and broad-nib pen aesthetic place it firmly in the calligraphic script category.
