Jana Thork specimen from Outras Fontes

A two-weight display family that fuses stone-carved Roman capitals with uncial and half-uncial calligraphic letterforms, deliberately blurring the boundary between upper and lowercase.

About

Jana Thork draws from two distinct historical traditions: the monumental Roman capital as found in stone inscriptions, and the fluid stroke logic of uncial and half-uncial scripts. The result occupies an ambiguous space between cases, making it well suited to titles, labels and short decorative texts. Over 120 extras are accessible via OpenType features including ligatures, swashes and stylistic alternates, with a Bold weight available for typographic hierarchy.

Classification

Jana Thork synthesises stone-engraved Roman capitals with uncial and half-uncial calligraphic forms, occupying a hybrid space between historical display lettering and calligraphic revival. The deliberate blurring of uppercase and lowercase conventions places it firmly in the display category.
