About
Simpleton Gothic occupies a deliberately graceless corner of the grotesque tradition, rejecting refinement in favour of garish proportions. Version 2.01 expanded the glyph set considerably to 478 characters, covering Latin Extended-A, spacing modifiers, combining diacritical marks and superscript and subscript numerals. It is available as a single Regular weight with no italic or condensed companion.

Described explicitly as a neo-grotesque gothic sans serif; the single Regular weight and deliberately ungainly proportions place it squarely in the grotesque tradition, though designed to subvert rather than conform to its conventions.
