Inkulinati
Omega Type Foundry · Toshi Omagari · 2021

A custom blackletter designed for the medieval manuscript-themed game Inkulinati, balancing historical character with screen legibility and Cyrillic support.
About
Drawn from research into 13th-century illuminated manuscript calligraphy, the design deliberately avoids strict historicism in favour of screen performance and text efficiency. Hairlines are removed and strokes kept predominantly curved to maintain legibility across varying digital display sizes. Cyrillic support is included, a notable rarity among blackletter typefaces, making it a practical choice for multilingual game interfaces.
Classification
