A monospaced serif in eight weights with italics, adapted from W.A. Dwiggins's unfinished typewriter drawings held at the Boston Public Library.
About
The upright stems from a Dwiggins drawing of monospaced lowercase for an unknown client, while the italic derives from his 'Aldine' work for Underwood. An OpenType alternate implements a three-unit width system Dwiggins himself proposed, assigning narrow letters two units, standard letters three, and wide letters four. The result is a soft, casual face suited to text setting, packaging and advertising.
Classification
A monospaced serif typeface derived from W.A. Dwiggins's unfinished typewriter designs. The slab-like serifs and fixed-pitch spacing place it firmly in the monospaced serif category, with a humanist warmth atypical of the genre.
