Comic Code
Omega Type Foundry · 2019

A monospaced adaptation of Comic Sans drawn entirely from scratch and designed for use in code editors, with manually drawn weights and italics the original never had.
About
Where Comic Sans relied on artificially generated bolds and no italics, Comic Code offers manually drawn Regular, Medium, Light, Bold, Italic and Bold Italic variants. A companion family, Comic Code Ligatures, addresses the legibility of programming ligatures by using semi-connected dashes that read as joined but remain individually countable. The design retains the low-resolution legibility and approachable character of its inspiration while correcting its outline and spacing shortcomings.
Classification
A monospaced typeface drawing on the informal, casual character of Comic Sans, designed specifically for programming use. Its fixed-width construction and hand-drawn aesthetic place it firmly in the monospaced category with an informal/casual subcategory.
