displaypixel/rounded display
Biot specimen from Octotypo

A display typeface built on a pixel matrix grid, its rounded glyph corners producing a retro-futuristic aesthetic.

About

Biot began as a set of sketches laid out on a classic pixel matrix. Rounding the corners of each glyph gave the design an unexpected retro-futuristic character, which the designer chose to preserve as the typeface's defining quality. The result is a single-weight display face suited to headlines and short-form setting where that distinctive quality can register.

Classification

Biot originates from a pixel matrix grid, with rounded corners applied to each glyph, producing a retro-futuristic display character. The pixelated structure and deliberate corner rounding place it firmly in the display category.
