Maskul
Obrysy · Jitka Schneider · 2025
displayvariable-contrast display serif

A variable serif that interpolates between sensuous high contrast and firm low contrast, named after a Czech racehorse.
About
Maskul runs a contrast axis alongside weight, so the same family stretches from an elegant, high-contrast display cut down to a firm, low-contrast style usable at smaller sizes. Six weights across four contrast levels give it real range for editorial and display work. Italics are planned but not yet released.
Classification
A variable font interpolating between high and low stroke contrast, named after a racehorse, places this as a display serif built around a contrast axis.
