Paykan specimen from NoonFont

A high-contrast Arabic display typeface in six weights, drawing on Naskh calligraphic tradition with exaggerated stroke variation and sharp angular details suited to headlines and fashion branding.

About

Inspired by the Shafiq font and rooted in the Naskh script, Paykan amplifies its source material with sudden directional changes and pronounced thick-to-thin contrast. The Latin component is adapted from the open-source Newsreader typeface, with proportions and weights adjusted to match. All six weights are accompanied by a variable font, making the family practical for both print and digital display contexts.

Classification

Inspired by the Naskh script with pronounced stroke-width variations and sharp directional changes, Paykan is designed explicitly for display use in headlines and short texts rather than extended reading.
