Beon Display specimen from Noir Blanc Rouge

A free single-weight stencil typeface evoking neon signage, originally designed for the closing credits of a French film and updated in 2024 with broad multilingual support.

About

Beon was created by Bastien Sozeau for the film BangBang by Raphael L. Lungo, where it appeared as actor name cards and in the final drop. The letterforms use stencil gaps to simulate the broken illumination of neon tubing, giving it an immediate retro-cinematic quality. Despite its decorative premise, the font ships with over 1,000 glyphs, extensive OpenType features including old-style figures, tabular variants and circled characters, and support for 360 languages.

Classification

A single-weight stencil typeface designed to evoke neon signage, with letterforms broken by stencil gaps to simulate the look of neon tube lettering. Its display character and decorative intent place it firmly in the display category.
