Opake
Natanael Gama · Natanael Gama

A single-weight display typeface constructed from continuous loop letterforms, producing an unconventional design with calligraphic warmth and echoes of Cooper Black.
About
Opake abandons both calligraphic tools and geometric grids in favour of a construction method where each letter is formed from a single continuous loop line, resulting in letterforms that feel genuinely unlike standard display type. Calligraphic stroke terminations and certain shape decisions lend it a warmth reminiscent of Cooper Black, preventing it from feeling merely eccentric. Available only in Heavy, it is suited to large headlines, posters, branding and apparel where its distinctive silhouette can read clearly.
Classification
Categorised as display due to its single-continuous-loop construction and headline-only application; though it draws on calligraphic stroke terminations, its non-connecting letterforms and experimental construction place it firmly in the display category rather than script.
