Porito Grande specimen from Nasir Udin Studio

An ultra-bold 1970s-inspired display typeface with near-zero negative space, creating a dense, interlocking appearance suited to headline and packaging work.

About

Porito Grande builds on the earlier Porito typeface by pushing letterform density to an extreme, with massive thick-set forms that lock together visually when set at tight tracking. The aesthetic draws from classic funk, groovy poster art and bold lifestyle branding of the 1970s. With 495 glyphs and support for over 200 Latin-based languages across Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Baltic, Turkish and Romanian scripts, it covers broad application despite its singular display purpose.

Classification

An ultra-bold display typeface with near-zero negative space and interlocking letterforms, drawing directly from 1970s funk and groovy poster lettering traditions. Its thick-set, chunky construction places it firmly in the display category with a retro subcategory.
