Landhuis
Nasir Udin Studio · Nasir Udin · 2026

An all-caps display typeface in eight weights, inspired by a colonial-era inscription on a coffee plantation farmhouse in East Java and rooted in the Art Deco and Art Nouveau typography of the Dutch East Indies period.
About
Named after the Dutch word for 'country house', Landhuis draws from the Nederlandsch-Indië era in Indonesia, channelling the decorative lettering found on 18th and 19th-century estate facades. Eight weights and extensive Latin and Cyrillic support give the family practical range despite its historical character. OpenType features include contextual alternates, stylistic alternates and discretionary ligatures, with region-specific forms for Bulgarian and Polish.
Classification
An all-caps display typeface drawing from Art Deco and Art Nouveau letterforms of the Dutch East Indies colonial period. Its decorative, period-specific character and all-caps construction place it firmly in the display category.
