A single-weight fat face display typeface drawing on 19th-century poster lettering traditions, with extreme stroke contrast designed for attention-grabbing headlines.
About
Alvida Fatface takes its cues from the high-contrast fat face types that dominated advertising print in the 1800s, balancing ultra-bold strokes against hairline thins. The single Regular style is supported by a broad multilingual Latin character set covering Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Baltic, Turkish and Romanian. OpenType features include contextual alternates, fractions and case-sensitive forms.
Classification
A 19th-century fat face revival defined by extreme stroke contrast between ultra-bold and hairline-thin strokes, placing it squarely in the display/fat face tradition derived from early poster and advertising type.
