displaylogotype
Mizna specimen from Morcos Key

A bespoke brand identity logotype for Mizna, the only Arab American literature and art journal in the USA, built around an extended tatweel as a unifying masthead device.

About

Developed for Mizna's rebrand alongside its printed journal and the Twin Cities Arab Film Festival, the logotype uses an elongated tatweel — the Arabic kashida stroke — as its defining visual element. This single mark threads across Mizna's varied outputs, from print to film festival branding, providing cohesion without uniformity. The design reflects the journal's dual Arabic and English cultural identity.

Classification

A bespoke identity logotype featuring an extended tatweel (Arabic kashida), placing it firmly in the display/logotype category with strong Arabic typographic influence.
