About
Each of the three styles corresponds to a distinct monastic archetype: Novice features rough angular shapes with sharp corners, Elder softens those forms with rounded edges, and Hermit introduces deliberate scratches and scuffs to suggest age and wear. The conceptual framework derives from the Ukrainian word for "cell" (келія), tying the letterforms to the austere simplicity of hermit monks' quarters. With 1,992 glyphs and support for over 500 languages across seven scripts, the family is unusually broad in reach for a decorative face.
Classification
A carved, angular display typeface drawing on stone-cutting aesthetics, with three stylistic variants ranging from sharp-cornered to rounded to distressed. The strong structural geometry and monumental quality place it firmly in the display category.
