Drawn from the tradition of American wood type poster printing, the design takes the ornate forked serifs and compressed forms of gothic Tuscan lettering as its starting point. Three widths — Regular, SemiWide and Wide — give the family flexibility for headline and display use. The name references the Tarweed wildflower of the Rocky Mountains, whose branching shape echoes the characteristic split terminals of the letterforms.
