Miramonte Pro specimen from Matteson Typographics

A humanist sans-serif designed in 2006 for user interfaces and publishing, with open letterforms, a cursive italic and Central and Eastern European character support.

About

Designed with reference to Stanislav Marso's 1960 sans-serif, Miramonte Pro refines that starting point into a more complete family with a cursive italic and OpenType features including small capitals and proportional figures. The splayed capital M gives the design a distinctive character, while an alternate single-storey lowercase 'a' offers flexibility between informal and formal registers. Extended Latin coverage accommodates Central and Eastern European publishing requirements.

Classification

A humanist sans-serif with open, clear letterforms suited to UI and text settings. The cursive italic and alternate single-storey 'a' reinforce its humanist rather than geometric or grotesque character.
