Goudy Titling specimen from Matteson Typographics

An all-caps titling face derived from Frederic Goudy's 2-inch wood engravings of Trajan capitals, made for his book 'The Trajan Capitals', available in three weights.

About

The letterforms trace back to Goudy's interpretive study of the Trajan Column inscription, predating Father Catich's more exhaustive analysis. Though faithful to the Roman source, they carry Goudy's personal hand. Available in Regular, SemiBold and Bold, the family is licensed through Monotype.

Classification

Derived from Goudy's wood engravings of Trajan capitals, this is a glyphic all-caps titling face rooted in classical Roman inscriptional letterforms, placing it firmly in the lapidary/glyphic serif tradition.
