Coquette specimen from Mark Simonson

An unconnected upright script hybridising French scripts like Typo Upright with 1930s geometric sans faces like Kabel, expanded from three weights to six.

About

Coquette came from an idea Simonson had in the early 90s while designing a logo, taking several years and attempts to get right, a process he says taught him a lot about type design. It became one of his most popular releases and, by his own account, his favourite of everything he's designed. The original three weights (Light, Regular, Bold) grew to six in 2017 with the addition of Thin, Extrabold and Black, along with alternate characters, fractions, superscript and a full set of f-ligatures.

Classification

An unconnected upright script blending French script models with 1930s geometric sans proportions, so it's classed script rather than sans-serif.
