A commissioned typeface for a German driving school, drawing on road signs, licence plates and bureaucratic forms to produce a regulated, technical character.
About
Designed for the corporate identity of Fahrschule Schaltwerk, Velo takes its cues from the visual language of German traffic signage, official stamps and licence plates. The design balances this structured, institutional quality with sufficient legibility for longer passages of copy. Graphics using the typeface were produced by Eric Dannebaum of Büro Bum Bum.
