A loopless Thai extension for IBM Plex, co-designed by Mark Frömberg and Ben Mitchell in 2018 to complement IBM Plex Sans at larger sizes.
About
Designed to mirror the texture and weight relationships of IBM Plex Sans, the loopless style suits display usage and maintains visual consistency across the wider Plex family. The project was part of a large-scale international collaboration and is distributed under the Open Font Licence via GitHub. The result is a Thai typeface that integrates naturally alongside any of the other scripts IBM Plex supports.
Classification
A loopless Thai companion to IBM Plex Sans, designed to harmonise with the Latin grotesque in texture and weight. Loopless Thai styles are typically used at larger display sizes and share structural affinities with European sans-serif letterforms.
