Pigeon follows the humanist model of Ludovico Arrighi's Renaissance italic, but simplifies the calligraphic detail into something friendlier, while borrowing a touch of the sparkle found in Johannes Fleischmann's Dutch Baroque types.

Classification

A simplified, friendly reworking of Ludovico Arrighi's Renaissance chancery italic, with some of the flourish of Dutch Baroque type folded in.
