About
LDN Northbank shares its typographic skeleton with LDN Southbank but diverges through higher stroke contrast and opposing counter forms, giving it a distinctly art school character. The design draws on Paul Harpin's research into mid-century modernism at the Royal College of Art during the early 1950s. It pays tribute to designers including FHK Henrion, Gordon Cullen and Charles Hasler, chairman of the Typographic Panel for the 1951 Festival of Britain.
