serifclassical roman
LDN Grace Roman specimen from London Type Foundry

A classical roman serif by Paul Harpin, drawn with a painterly brush-first approach intended to evoke the pre-carved origins of Roman letterforms.

About

Designed as a personal exercise following Harpin's debut typeface Laura, LDN Grace Roman takes its name from the middle name of his niece, with 50% of earnings donated to Macmillan and Cancer Research UK. The design draws on the notion that Roman letters were originally painted with a brush before being carved into stone, lending the letterforms a refined delicacy that Harpin intends to distinguish it from established classical competitors. Only a Regular weight is currently available.
